FutureWARTHINK 027: Don't Forget to PUSH & PULL

The Cessna 337 derivative "Lynx" used by the Rhodesian Fire Forces to great effect!

Rhodesian ParaLight Infantry with C-47 ParaDaks & Lynx CAS MUDFIGHTERS; Horse Cavalry with Automatic Weapons/Rifle Grenades, too

Torque is a HUGE problem damning prop aviation. Asymmetric thrust on wing-mounted twin engines have killed so many, aircraft insurance companies refuse to cover them.

American aircraft makers cannot do contra-rotating props like the British and Russians can: Tu-95 Bear bombers, Spitfire XIXs, Fairey Gannet ASW planes etc.

On to PLAN B.

Arrange the 2x engines so they negate each other's torque by a PUSH-PULL arrangement like the German Dornier Do-335 in WW2--what the P-38 should have been (with a center-line bomb trapeze like SBDs and Stuka dive bombers has for dive bombing, direct-hit accuracy):

...and the brilliant Burt Rutan's Defiant:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutan_Defiant

The prototype Defiant, N78RA, was first flown on 30 June 1978. It had been intended as a proof-of-concept of a very safe light twin design, requiring little trim change and no pilot action in case of engine failure, and with good single engine performance. A comparison of the Defiant single engine climb rate with a Gulfstream Cougar had shown about 390 feet (120 m) vs 280 feet (85 m) per minute at low altitude with both aircraft cleaned up

...and the Cessna model 337 which Phil West loves an armed similar push/pull lay-out for Sub-National Conflict (SNC) like the Rheims 337--but bigger and 2x as fast (400 mph)...

"The Buzzard was NOT a 337. It just shared the same configuration. Part of the Buzzard concept was to have engines large enough to produce a high speed for greater tactical and strategic capability (gets to trouble spot fast, hard to hit when there)

Original inspiration was the use of a DeHavilin Mosquito in a Biggles book my younger cousin was reading, so something like a pair of RR Merlins."

The chief complaint with 2x engines so close together is NOISE.

Make 1x or both 2x ELECTRIC.

Problem solved!

The AMPAIRE Cessna 337 EEL with a diesel DeltaHawk piston engine could also use safer-than-gasoline fuels to include biofuels:

https://deltahawk.com/

The electric motor could be left on and the diesel piston engine turned OFF for maximum stealth to get down under 2, 000 feet AGL so elusive enemy targets can be actually spotted/targeted/destroyed.

Having its WINGS FOLD, it can be ground-mobile & towed on trailers, in ISO shipping containers etc. so the eBuzzard could be forward-located with ground maneuver units to render CAS--and not be D.O.T.G.ed.

Fieseler Fi-156 Storch Wing Folding TECH

Should take only 10x minutes tops for people who know what they are doing--these guys do not--so don't ass u me their effort is indicative of what a military pilot/observer/crew chief could do.

We are convinced that if we FOLDED the AMPAIRE's wings so they can be GROUND-MOBILE in ISO shipping containers, trailers etc. THEY (civMil customers) WILL COME and buy them.

Other STOL Grasshoppers like the Storch had folding or detaching wings for ground mobility:

www.combatreform.org/grasshoppersmustreturn.htm

But of course! The eBuzzard should have TWEEL tires that cannot go flat if hit by bullets/shrapnel:

https://tweel.michelinman.com/

...and could be an Unmanned/Manned Combat Air Vehicle (U/MCAV) aka Optionally-Piloted Vehicle (OPV) aka DRONE Killer Bee that could dive into and direct-hit targets albeit a single-engine Kamikaze would be less $$$ wasteful in Nation-State War (NSW) 720 Non-Linear Battlefields where it would be too dangerous for pilot/observer JTAC to be inside..

Semper Airborne!

James Bond is REAL.
