TactiSMART 016: Don't Lose Your Gun, James Bond, G.I. Joe!

Americans cringed … at the use of a term now regarded as a slur

— William Safire

CRINGE is not strong enough a word for the many 20-something normies and almost-as-immoral, gunsheeple out there who REFUSE to accept basic, laws-of-physics, OBJECTIVE REALITY that something that takes 1 step to do is FASTER aka takes less time than something that requires this step plus SEVERAL OTHERS ON TOP OF IT to do. 1 is a smaller number and amount of time than 1 plus 5 aka 6. Duhh. 1-800-OBVIOUS. This is in reference to our ground-breaking revelation that PRELoaded Magazine Dependency (PRELMD) is BAD and the USMIL is handicapped by it via poor AR15/M16/M4 Assault Rifle (AR) design that should have Stripper Clip Loading (SCL) as a reload option. Most of the YOUTUBE gunsters are in sexual love with PRELMD guns and the TactiKool stupidity of dropping magazines and throwing them away as if they were wearing Reeves' sicko (not good) side burns instead of faggoty-looking ATIFA neck beards. DISGUST is the better term for the "OK, fucktard" generation who shoots their ignorant mouths off calling you a "boomer" without 1st ASKING you if you are?--showing at least a modicum of FACTUAL MORALITY aka decency.

The next military small arms problem--that actually comes before the lack of magazine retention--is WEAPONS RETENTION. The USMC has yet to learn this!

The infamous Beghazi fiasco feature ex-SELs under CIA employ slinging a 40mm Grenade Launcher across their back--only to lose it and fatally not have indirect fire capabilities.

Seen in the SEALs TV show, the M320 40mm GL can be carried like a huge pistol instead of slung across your back. Note the retention cord! It still takes more time--precious seconds to present from the holster compared to if the GL was mounted under the AR.

MMI Outdoor M320 Grenade Launcher Holster System.

M320 Pistol Configuration has Folding Stock, FWIW

Condition: New

Included =  M320 Grenade Launcher Holster, Weapon Leash, and War Belt

Developed in response to a need from the field for a tough and intuitive way to carry the M320, the complete M320 Grenade Launcher Holster System consists of the M320 Grenade Launcher Holster, Weapon Leash, and War Belt.

The M320 Grenade Launcher Holster (GLH) is a semi-rigid, open-topped holster. The weapon slides into place and is secured by a self locking trigger guard clip (seen below). Secondary retention is available with an elastic tubular webbing top strap and side release buckle featuring MMI’s G-tab. the G-tab is a proprietary webbing extension that allows for easy closure of the buckle even when the user is wearing gloves. The completely open top allows any standard optics to be attached to the M320 and still fit easily into the holster. The trigger guard clip is easily field replaceable with a single screw in the unlikely event of breakage in the field. MOLLE allows the GLH to be attached anywhere based on user preference.

Retention Cord for Dummies!

The Weapon Leash is a single point harness for an M320. The user can simply girth hitch the loop end of the leash onto their chest rig or harness at a point that is comfortable for them. ITW’s MASH hook at the opposite end allows for easy attachment of the leash to the rear of the grenade launcher. This allows the weapon to be used accurately and safely without the buttstock offering considerable weight savings.

The final piece to this capability is the MMI Outdoor War Belt. It is a combination of an outer MOLLE belt and an inner Rigger’s belt creating a supplemental load carriage system. The MOLLE belt is contoured to fit natural motion and add lumbar support to help reduce fatigue on a long movement much like a weight lifter’s belt. The Rigger’s belt allows the system to fit waist sizes from 30 to 40 inches and securely hold the load in place.

Magazine Retention? You Have to Start with RIFLE RETENTION.

We guess marines drop rifles like they drop magazines.

The two rifles lost by 3rd battalion, 6th marines are still missing, but marines in the unit are no longer actively searching for the weapons as the Naval Criminal Investigative Service has taken over the hunt, the marine corps confirmed Monday.

The rifles went missing in late December during an exercise at the unit’s home base of Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, 1st Lt. Dan Linfante, a spokesman for the 2nd marine division told marine corps Times Dec. 20.

Though he could not say exactly when the rifles went missing, Linfante did say the NCIS investigation started Dec. 18 and as of Dec. 20 marines were still “actively searching” for the missing weapons marine corps Times previously reported.

In a Monday phone call, Linfante could not say when the marines ended their active search for the weapons.

An NCIS spokesman said Monday that there are no updates on the search and the investigation is still ongoing.

Linfante did counter online rumors that marines with 3rd battalion, 6th marines, were held back from preplanned holiday leave block.

“All the marines that put in their requests in properly were afforded holiday leave,” Linfante said.

Thankfully, in the Global War for Corporate Error $$$ spending spree, someone saw this problem and attempted to solve it with stretch pistol lanyards connected to their holster and slung rifles held vertical on a big clip--both on the Load Bearing Equipment (LBE) vest. So normies and milretards can't lie about weapons retention being somehow NOT a problem because one of their status quo fangirl ilk has already let it be known IT IS A PROBLEM. Ooopsie! We will still have to cringe at their expected 20-something BS reality-denial at our better pistol retention option presented here that doesn't result in the gun dragging on the ground or the lanyard getting snagged on something as you are moving dismounted or even inside a motor-driven vehicle.

Hollywood, ehh PINEWOOD Reveals the Pistol Retention Problem in the Bond Films
There are a several scenes in James Bond movies that make the military/police/spy professional CRINGE because they are realistic and represents a problem the frankly, low-I.Q. gun world refuses to fully solve--but a smart civilian Bubba or G.I. Joe did get-the-ball-rolling with pistol lanyard/dummy cords a few years ago.

In the 1965, Thunderball, Sean Connery's 007 drops his tiny, anemic 7.65mm Walther PPK from a roof--and when it hits the pavement--fires. Someone should drop-test a PPK loaded with a blank inside and see if it would fire--I say NOT. A weapons version of the 9/11 denial-cowardly, "Myth Busters" TV show that refuses to tackle the reality that fires don't IMPLODE skyscrapers like controlled demolitions do. Connery's 007 lost his compact pistol because he wanted to have it ready-to-fire but needed to free his hands for climbing the roof. In 1973's The Man with the Golden Gun, Roger Moore's 007 drops his PPK from his pants waist band--which does not fire--while climbing behind Christopher Lee's Scaramanga's shooting gallery of horrors which sets you up for the surprise ending--the arch villain certainly was! Later in 1983's "Octopussy" Moore's 007 loses his PPK in an Indian market place melee fight. Inside the Waistband (IWB) full-sized, 9mm pistol holster retention is showcased as a surprise move at the end of Daniel Craig's Casino Royale opening teaser--but its doubtful with several men aimed in on him with shouldered ARs (in this case AKMs) would have let him draw his IWB pistol and explode a conveniently-located, highly-explosive, propane tank to effect his escape. Hollywood, ehhh Pinewood!

The Solution is Already Here: Wrist Lanyards

Look Ma! My Firing Hand is FREE!

A fight-to-the-death is not going to be PLAN A pretty and you could instead get hit by someone or something ruining your deliberated plans--having a PLAN B SHTF to wrist lanyard-retain your pistol or knife so you don't drop/lose them is a must Tactics, Techniques, Procedures, Equipment, Environment & Enemy (TTPE3). The Beretta 92/Taurus 92 has at its bottom, a metal loop for a military lanyard/dummy cord or a wrist loop. If YOU KNOW YOU ARE GOING INTO A FIREFIGHT, having a wrist loop for your pistol not only retains it if you get stunned by something, it gives you the ability to LET GO, let the pistol dangle at your wrist so both of your hands are free for climbing etc. Don't be a smart-ass contrarian and whine about not wanting to dangle a locked & cocked .45 ACP in Cooper's Condition 1 or ZERO. The lanyard loop dangle is for very-hard on-the-1st-trigger-pull and no exposed hammer, pistols in Condition 2 like the Beretta 92/Taurus 92 or the fabulous sub-compact KelTec PF9--all of which are in powerful, but can't pierce soft body armor, 9mm x 19mm Luger. A 5.7mm version of the SIG SAUER P320/M17 that can pierce soft body armor should have a metal lanyard loop on its frame bottom for a wrist lanyard. The current P320/M17 does NOT--and this is a BIG MISTAKE

Making a Pistol Wrist Lanyard

Does your pistol frame have a lanyard loop on bottom?

No? like the PF9?

Then you'll have to drill a hole in that pistol's MRS magazine for the wrist lanyard loop. Suggest the extended 8-round magazine. Of course wrist retention will only be possible in this situation with the 1st Maximum Rounds Start (MRS) magazine in the pistol.

Ascertain how much a 550 paracord loop you need for your firing hand's wrist so its a bit tight getting into it FROM THE BOTTOM UP. Add 3 inches of length for the overhand knot you'll need to secure to your pistol's bottom frame/1st magazine's loop/hole.

Trim the excess paracord and flame-fuse the ends.

VOILA!

Practice, Practice, Practice!

Taurus 92 9mm Pistol with XYH-2HY01 Green Laser/FlashLight attached by Picatinny Rail

You must have in your thoughtful mind--as well as your muscle memory--pushing your firing hand from THE BOTTOM to properly drape the pistol lanyard loop over your wrist so it naturally rests for firing and hand-let-go, dangling. We described this same TTPE3 as necessary for holding your Every Day Carry (EDC) Key Chain OC Pepper Spray Canister.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYTWq53adcY

The Luckline 70801 Key Chain Separator also offers a refinement to the pistol lanyard--double-knot a female/male end to it and attach a dummy cord to the other female/male end for extra retention security when in the holster albeit you might want to detach the lanyard and go with wrist-retention only in a fight to have the instant hands-free capability. Having the Luckyline female/male end at the pistol lanyard also enables you to attach the entire pistol to where the required female/male Luckyline connector is say on your LBE etc.

Practice makes perfect.

QUESTION: Where is the Loop for a Retention Lanyard/Wrist Loop on the USMIL's New SIG SAUER P320/M17-18 9mm Plastic Pistols?

Do you see a loop for a retention lanyard/wrist loop?

ANSWER: SIG SAUER writes back on where the retention loop is:

"It is inset into the grip module and does not stick out."

Status Quo Fangirls couldn't stop singing the praises of the U.S. ARMY spending $1B on plastic 9mm pistols---and the morons never thought about attaching a RETENTION LANYARD much less loop to a M17...as if with this new pistol suddenly gravity will no longer be a TBATE threat to worry about...here are the best pics we've found so far of the elusive lanyard connection point the dumb gun bunnies might not even know what it's for...
