FutureWarTHINK 001: Israeli UZI SMG Firing Port Weapons in West German Marder Infantry-Carrying Tanks

Terminator 1: "Uzi, 9 Millimeter": Is that Israeli UZI SMG Firing Port Weapons in West German Marder Infantry-Carrying Tanks?

With the first unit delivered in summer 1971, the Marder IFV remained untested in combat for 38 years until July 2009 when they defended a German combat outpost against the Taliban in Chahar Dara district of Afghanistan's Kunduz Province, killing and wounding scores of insurgents. Since then, the Marders have been involved in heavy fighting several times. The vehicles have proved to be extremely useful and have been praised as a great tactical asset by German troops.[13] However, the crews have been subject to great physical stress as none of the vehicles are equipped with air conditioning systems.[14] Two Marders were damaged by Improvised explosive devices land mines in the course of a German-led offensive on Taliban insurgents in Quatliam, on 31 October 2010. Later in the battle, code-named by the Coalition "Operation Halmazag", the crews in Marders beat off a Taliban attempt to outflank positions held by German paratroopers.[15]

So West German Mechanized Infantry and Cavalry Scouts fired pistol bullet, 9mm x 19mm Luger Uzi Sub-Machine Guns (SMGs) through medium-weight (30 tons), steel Marder infantry-carrying tank, ball firing ports, then  dismounted on foot carrying such weak under 100m range-effect, weapons alongside superb full-power, 1, 000 meter range-effect, 7.62mm x 51mm NATO G3 rifles...note they could also fire heads-out from 4 x top troop hatches for maximum Situational Awareness (SA) if Terrain Firepower Saturation (TFS) area effect fires were not being received...if so, they button-up and fire 9mm through ports and 7.62mm through rear Remote Weapon Station....5 x dismounts fighting from the vehicle...Driver, Track Commander and Gunner firing & maneuvering Marder mother tank with powerful 20mm/7.62mm RWS...

Today, more powerful, 300m range-effect 5.56mm FPWs (MCX, PLR16) could be fired from a bulged large top troop hatch with left/right facing ball sockets so hull armoring wouldn't be compromised and could be left attached in their ball sockets so dismounts could carry larger, more powerful weapons when dismounted. The main RWS firing a more powerful 30mm autocannon with SPIKE ATGM for 4km plus Precision Directed Munition (PDM) effects...
